Mrs. J. A. Wilcox died at her home west of Grundy Center on Friday, June 9th after a brief illness.

Cora Ellen LaRue was born July 18, 1878 at Port Byron, Ill., and died at her home in Grundy county, Iowa, June 9, 1905, aged 26 years, 10 months and 21 days. She moved with her parents to Grundy county in early childhood where she has since resided. She was married at the home of her father to J. A. Wilcox Nov. 29, 1899.

Cora gave her heart to God and her hand to the church on June 18, 1899 and has ever since been an efficient helper, and it may be truthfully said of her "She did what she could."

She leaves to mourn her loss her mother, husband, two brothers and two sisters, besides a large circle of friends. Because of her kind and loving disposition all had learned to love her. She will be missed by the Sabbath school where she has taught a class for three years and whose members have become attached to her.

The funeral held Sunday at the Melrose M. E. church, was largely attended, her casket being covered with flowers from loving friends. Rev. Davis conducted the service speaking from Rev. 14:13, "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord."
