Funeral Services Friday For Mrs. Sam Callaway

Funeral services were held Friday at Union for Mrs. Sam Callaway, who died June 22nd at Grinnell following an illness of seven years. She was 84 years old.

Interment was in the Melrose cemetery.

Pauline Julia Callaway was born March 24, 1864, near Orion, Ill., the daughter of Samuel and Julia Callaway. She was united in marriage with Samuel H. Callaway at Davenport Jan. 23, 1892. To this union four children were born, Chester of Jefferson, Hazel Beck of Indianola, Arthur of Marshalltown and Gladys Schalk, who preceded her in death, as did Mr. Callaway.

Besides her three children she is survived by two granddaughters, Clara L. Beck of Indianola and Betty Jo Callaway of Jefferson; one grandson, Terry Leroy Schalk of Fort Dodge; one sister, Mrs. Alice Gustafson of Orion and two brothers, Herb of Brentwood, Tenn., and Ezra of Temple City, Calif.
