Mrs. J. A. Dunn Is Dead; Resided In This County 72 Years

Mrs. J. A. Dunn who had resided in Grundy county the past 72 years died at her home in Felix township last Wednesday evening after a lingering illness. She would have been 74 years old had she lived until the ninth of next August. She was born at Galena, Ill. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Groesbeck. At the age of two she came with her parents to Iowa. They located on a farm in Grundy county in the vicinity of Whitten where Mrs. Dunn spent practically all of her life.

On Feb. 7, 1884, she was united in marriage to Jesse A. Dunn, who preceded her in death, May 14, 1909. To this union was born eleven children, five preceding her in death. Those who mourn her death are Bessie M. Young of Union, Charles of Whitten, Susie Bromley of Dike, Hazel Newby of Eldora, Nancy Bromley of Cedar Falls and John of Whitten. She is survived by one brother, J. F. Groesbeck of Beaman, 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Church of Christ of Whitten Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial was in Melrose cemetery.
