Lavonne Bell, 68

LaVonne Carol Bell, 68, of Aplington died August 29, 1999, in her home from complications of A.L.S. disease.

LaVonne Carol was born the daughter of Henry and Grace Freese Pruisner on June 24, 1931 in Grundy County near Stout. She graduated from the Dike Community High School.

On April 12, 1968, she was united in marriage with William Bell in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Las Vegas for 36 years. LaVonne did clerical work for the Government for many years and she also was a bookkeeper for her husband. LaVonne moved to Aplington in 1998. She was a member of the Green Valley Presbyterian Church in Henderson, NV. She enjoyed golfing and bowling. She was very active and enjoyed helping in her church.

LaVonne was preceded in death by her husband William in November 1993; her parents; an infant brother, Roger; an infant sister, Darlene; and one brother, Gordon Pruisner.

She is survived by two brothers, Kenneth Pruisner and his wife, Berdene of Dike, and Don Pruisner and his wife, Leona, also of Dike; a sister-in-law, Arelene Pruisner of Aplington; two step-children, Steve Bell and Robin Bringham of California; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, at the First Presbyterian Church, Aplington with Rev. James Blair officiating. Inurnment was at the Stout Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the family. Schwartz Funeral Chapel, Aplington, was in charge of arrangements.
