Nettie Hessenius, Oldest Stout Resident, Dies

Mrs. Annett (Nettie) Hessenius died on Sunday, June 15, 1975, at the age of 86 at the Grundy Center hospital. Services were held at the Reformed Church of Stout Wednesday, June 18 and burial was in the Stout cemetery.

Mrs. Hessenius was born on November 11, 1888 on a farm in Grundy County and received her schooling in Grundy County. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hempen. On July 4, 1917 she was married to Casper "Cap" Hessenius. She lived in Stout all of her married life.

Three years ago she became an invalid and spent the last six months in the Beverly Manor in Grundy Center.

She is survived by one sister, Mary (Mrs. Henry Konken) of Stout and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died June 24, 1944, four sisters and three brothers.

Nettie was the oldest person in Stout and will be missed by all who knew her.
