Death Claims Young Wife and Mother At The Hospital
Mrs. Herman Andreessen died last Thursday morning at Sartori hospital, Cedar Falls. Uremic poisoning which set in shortly after childbirth was the cause of her death. Word of Mrs. Andreessen's death was received here with deep regret by her many friends and friends of the family.
Vera Henrietta Wiltfang Andreessen, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Wiltfang, was born near Stout Sept. 29, 1916, and continued to live in this vicinity until death claimed her.
She was united in marriage to Herman Andreessen of Stout Feb. 27, 1936. They began farming on a farm east of town.
Friday, July 2, a little daughter came to brighten their home, but this pleasure was only of short duration. Several days after her condition became alarming and on Thursday she was taken to the hospital. All that medical skill and loving hands could do was of no avail. She passed away early Thursday morning, July 15, at the age of 20 years, 9 months, 18 days.
She was well known in this community and was of a friendly disposition and will be very sorely missed by her loved ones and friends.
Funeral services conducted by the local pastor, Rev. Heyenga, were held Saturday afternoon. He chose for his text Philippians 1:21.
Favorite songs of the deceased were sung by the congregation and quartet, "Saved by Grace," "Under His Wings," and "Nearer, My God, to Thee." The funeral was very largely attended. Burial was in the Stout cemetery.
She leaves to mourn her sad death her bereaved husband, Herman Andreessen; a small daughter, Lois Jean; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wiltfang; one sister, Mrs. Jake G. Meester; one brother, Herman Wiltfang; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harm Konken of stout, and Mrs. Fred Wiltfang of Parkersburg, and many more relatives and friends.
Relatives from a distance in attendance at the funeral were John Konken and family, Nashua; Fritz Wiltfang and family, Waterloo; Rev. H. Pannkuk, Aplington; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Helmers, Herbert and Evelyn, Marble Rock; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. DeBoer, Mrs. John Abbas, Aplington; Geo.
