Died Enroute To Hospital

Mrs. Jacob DeBoer Passes Away at Home of Her Daughter Enroute to Rochester Last Friday

After suffering for twenty-seven years, Mrs. Jacob DeBoer started last week to the hospital at Rochester, Minn., thinking to secure relief either through treatment or an operation. Reaching the home of her daughter at Jasper, Minn., she was taken ill, and although everything that loving hands and medical skill could do was done to relieve her suffering, death would not be stayed and her soul passed peacefully to its Creator on the 10th of June.

Peterke Nederhoff DeBoer was born in Loggemmer Vorwerk, Ostfriesland, Germany, on the 9th of June, 1857, and came to America in 1883, coming direct to Grundy Center to make her home. In the spring of the following year she was united in holy wedlock to Jacob DeBoer, and to this union were born ten children, six of whom, with the husband and father, mourn her death. Three sons and one daughter preceded the mother to the great beyond. All the children were in attendance at the funeral services, which were held Monday afternoon from the German Presbyterian church, the pastor, Rev. H. F. Sinning, being assisted in conducting the service by Rev. J. E. Drake, of the Colfax township Presbyterian church. The remains were interred in the cemetery near Stout.
