Obituary of William Frederick Bergmann

Early last Thursday morning the angel of death entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Bergmann in Fairfield township, and claimed their little son Willie.

William F. Bergmann was born Nov. 26, 1905. He took sick about four weeks ago with inflammation of the muscles as the physicians pronounced it. In the last few days of his illness his pains were at times unbearable. All that loving hands and medical skill could do was being done but to no avail until he passed away, Dec. 24, 1914, at the age of 9 years and 28 days.

While he has gone from the scenes, the conflicts, the sorrows and pleasures of life, he will still live in the hearts of those who knew him best.

Much has been taken from this family and wide circle of relatives and friends, sweet ties have been severed, but much is left. The christian's hopes and fadeless memory are still theirs. The funeral services were held at the German Reformed church Monday conducted by the pastor, Rev. F. Reewerts and attended by a large number of sympathizing ones. Burial was made in the Stout cemetery. He leaves to mourn his death six brothers and five sisters. Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to the grief stricken family in this their hour of grief.

Sleep on beloved, sleep and take thy rest. Lay down thy head upon thy Saviour's breast;
We love thee well but Jesus loves thee best--Good night.
Only "Good night" beloved, not farewell!
A little while and all his saints shall dwell
In hollowed union, undivisible--Good night!
Until we meet again before his throne
Clothed in the spotless rob,
He gives his own,
Until we know even as we are known, "Good night!"
