Arend Hinders was born August 27, 1830, at Boen, Amt. Weener, Ostfriesland, Germany, and died Feb. 20, 1910, aged 79 years, 5 months and 23 days, at his home west of town. His wife, Elske Borgmann Hinders, is still living. They were the parents of six children, three of whom passed on before their father. He came to this country in 1882 and lived with his family in Grundy county ever since. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Schaefer on Feb. 22, and interment made in the cemetery at Stout. His son, who lives in Butler county, was here to attend the funeral.
