Former Wellsburg Man Heart Victim

John W. DeBoer, 59, of Delmer, died suddenly Saturday night of a heart attack. He was born at Aplington on April 29, 1915 to William J. DeBoer and Mary Koppedreyer DeBoer.

Survivors are his wife, Della; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Eiklenborg of Parkersburg; three sons, William of Bagley, Eugene of Des Moines, and Roger stationed with the U.S. Navy at Millington, Tenn.; a sister, Mrs. John G. Abbas of Wellsburg; three brothers, George, Jerry and William, all of Aplington.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church at Ackley. Burial was in the West Friesland Presbyterian Church cemetery.

The DeBoer family formerly farmed north of Wellsburg and also lived in Wellsburg a number of years ago.
