Mrs. Ernestine Nordmeyer, nee Rolfing, was born October 16, 1833, at Schlaesselburg, Westfalen, Germany and died Sunday, January 30 at 5 a.m. at Wellsburg, Iowa, aged 87 years, 3 months and 14 days. She was married to Diedrich Nordmeyer in the fall of 1855. Her husband died in 1888. In 1889 Mrs. Nordmeyer came to America accompanied by Mrs. Rieka Baade, who survives her. Wellsburg was her first home, until 1904, when she moved to Buffalo Center, where she lived till 1914. Then she came back to Wellsburg and spent the eve of her life with her grandchild, Miss Lena Thoran, the latter giving her the best of care.
