Eilert Harms, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Wessel Harms living west of town died Sunday night of typhoid fever.
He had been sick just six weeks and all that anxious watching and loving hands could do was done but to no avail. It was thought on Saturday that he was somewhat improved but he became worse on Sunday and died about eleven o'clock in the evening.
Eilert was a bright and ambitious boy and he was loved by all who knew him.
He was born the 17th day of January, 1891, being only seventeen years of age at the time of his death.
He leaves to mourn his early departure, his father and mother, a brother and sister besides other relatives and a host of friends among whom he was always a leader.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. Theilken of Belmond were held from the home Wednesday at 1 o'clock after which interment was made in the cemetery east of town.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mrs. B. Meyer of Titonka, Rev. and Mrs. Theilken of Belmond.
