Death of W. B. Riekena

W. B. Riekena died at his home west of town at nine o'clock Tuesday morning. He had been suffering the past year with inflammation of the nerves and during that time he had suffered a number of strokes of paralysis. Two months prior to his death he was confined to his bed continuously and his death had for some time been looked upon as the outcome of his sickness.

Funeral services will be held in the Rev. Hoefker church west of town Friday afternoon.

Mr. Riekena was forty years old last February. He had resided in this locality nearly all of his life and followed the business of farming of which he made a success. A wife and three children survive him. The youngest of the children is five years old. Aside from these relatives the deceased is survived by his father, and mother, three brothers and five sisters. The brothers are Peter, Joe and Grates and the sisters are Mrs. John Mennenga, Mrs. Ebbo Neederhoff, Mrs. Ella Ertmoid, Mrs. George J. Geerdes and Florence who resides with her parents.
