Harm Swede living five miles west of town died last Saturday. Old age was the cause of his death. He had been in poor health all of the past year and during that time he failed gradually. Funeral services were held at the Dutch Reformed church west of town Monday.

Obituary
Harm Swede was born April 29, 1829, at Groot Husan, Ostfriesland, Germany, and died October 10, 1908, on his farm in Shiloh township. When a young married man he came to Illinois. Later he with his family, moved to the farm where he lived at the time of his death. He leaves to mourn his death a wife, two sons, George and John, and two daughters, Mrs. Sweeter Alfs and Mrs. George Scoorman. The deceased was a member of the Holland Reform church, where his funeral services were held, Rev. G. L. Hoefker officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near the church.
