Baby Burned
The year old baby of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Sanders died Tuesday from the effects of burns received while asleep in the cradle. The mother had left some of the older children in the room with the baby while she attended to duties outside. They got to playing with the fire and took fire from the stove and put in the cradle with the baby, childishly thinking they were doing right. When they found the babe it was alive but so badly burned that it could not live.

The infant son, aged 11 months, of William Sanders living about 12 miles south of Ackley was burned to death Tuesday morning. Mrs. Sanders left the baby in the cradle in charge of two children, both very young. She was gone only a short time, but on returning found the clothing in the cradle in flames, and the little one terribly burned. The accident happened in the morning and the child lingered until late in the afternoon. Just how the children set fire to the cradle is not known, but it is supposed it was accidental.
