Services Held for Mrs. B. Ammann Saturday Afternoon

Mrs. Bertha Ammann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Frey, was born at Ackley, October 17, 1888, and attended the Ackley school during her youth. On August 12, 1912, she was united in marriage with Will J. Ammann at Ackley, where they lived for a time. They then moved to Minnesota for a year, and later lived on a farm west of Wellsburg. She was confirmed in the St. John's Evangelical Church of Ackley on April 5, 1903, and later became a professing member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Wellsburg.

Mr. and Mrs. Ammann were the parents of one son, Edward of Wellsburg. In 1950 the Ammans left the farm and moved to Wellsburg. Will Ammann passed away on June 13, 1953 after a lingering illness. Mrs. Ammann continued to live in her own home until about two weeks before her death, when she was cared for in the home of her son. There she passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 6, 1961, at the age of 73 years, one month and 19 days.

Those who preceded her in death were her parents; her husband; a brother, Herman; and two brothers who died in infancy. Those who remain to mourn her passing, are her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ammann; two grandchildren, Robert and Pamela Ammann; two brothers, Joe Frey of Aplington, and Henry Frey of Parkersburg; one sister, Mrs. Jacob Wolff of Aplington, as well as several nephews and nieces, several other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 9, at the home of Edward Ammann, and later at the First Christian Reformed Church with the pastor, Rev. Bernard Visscher, officiating. Burial was in the cemetery near the church.

Music was furnished by a men's quartet composed of Claus G. Primus, Willis Bakker, Alfred Eiten, and Harvey Eiten, accompanied by Mrs. Claus G. Primus. Miss Elizabeth Eekhoff was organist.

Flower attendants were Mrs. Florence Lindaman and Mrs. Charles Kitzman. Pallbearers were Harold Frey, Sherman Frey, Henry Wolff, Garrelt Wolff, Siebe Frey, and Herman Frey.
