Mr. Wm. Nichols died at the home of Mr. V. D. Roberts south of town Monday morning, June 17, 1901, at two o'clock after a brief illness. Deceased was born near Glasgow, Scotland, in 1837, being at the time of his death sixty-four years and two days old. He leaves to mourn his death one daughter, Mrs. D. W. Bridges, besides other relatives. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning conducted by Rev. C. H. Marsh, pastor of the Baptist church and the choir from that church sang appropriate hymns. The burial took place in the Clark cemetery, the remains being followed to their last resting place by many of his old friends and neighbors.
