Obituary--Robert Gray

Robert Gray, son of Robert and Jane Gray, was born near Toronto, Ontario, June 15, 1852. He came to Morrison, Iowa in the year 1891, and operated a farm, near there, for a number of years. In the year 1912, he with his family, moved to Grundy Center, where he lived till the time of his death. He was united in marriage with Lucy Dickey, at Orfordsville, Wis., Feb. 7, 1885. To this union there were born three children, one of whom died in infancy. Mr. Gray was one of a family of eight, three of whom, two sisters, and one brother survive, and are now living in Ontario. Mr. Gray, of his immediate family leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, and a son and daughter, Elwin and Fern. In his early life, the deceased became a member of the Presbyterian church, and upon coming to Morrison, united with the Presbyterian church there. Within the last few weeks, his membership was transferred to the Presbyterian church of Grundy Center.

Mr. Gray was a man of quiet and unassuming mien, of high principle, and irreproachable character, loved and respected by all who knew him. He had been in ill health during most of the past winter, taking a turn for the worse only a few days before the end came. He passed away early last Friday morning at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 11 days.
