Obituary--Mrs. John Nelson

Mrs. John Nelson of Morrison was born on March 13, 1884, at Helsenburg, Sweden, and came to America in 1905, first residing in Grundy Center. Later she moved to Chicago and lived there a number of years.

On Dec. 1, 1917 she was united in marriage to John Nelson of Morrison at Chicago, Ill. Their married life was short, as Mrs. Nelson passed away at the Augustina Lutheran hospital in Chicago on March 14, 1918, following a serious operation.

The remains were brought to Morrison where the funeral service was held Sunday afternoon from the Presbyterian church, of which Mr. Nelson is a member, Rev. C. Hayenga officiating. The burial was made in Grundy Center cemetery.

Mrs. Nelson joined the Swedish Lutheran church while a child and in Chicago she belonged to the Swedish Methodist church. She was also a devout church member and consistent Christian. Her death is not only mourned by her husband, but her father and three brothers and one sister across the sea, and a host of friends in Chicago and the vicinity of Morrison.
