Lida Filkins Died In Calif.

Lida Mutch Filkins died Monday, Sept. 13th at Beverly Manor Convalescent Home, Seal Beach, California.

The body was cremated and will be sent here for burial beside her husband in Rose Hill Cemetery.

She was born in Morrison, Iowa, in 1888. She graduated from the Grundy Center high school and Iowa State Teachers College and taught music for several years in Traer, Iowa; Nebraska and South Dakota. Lida was married to Cy Filkins, who died in 1936.

After his death she went to Iowa City and was chaperon for Tri Delts for twenty years. She moved to Laguna Beach, California to live with her sister Ada Mutch. The last years she had made her home in Seal Beach. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Russ Gray and Mrs. A. H. Dulmes, both of Seal Beach.
