Jake William Stickfort

Funeral services for Jake William Stickfort, 73, of 617 East Clair St., Cedar Falls, will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Downing Avenue Chapel, Waterloo, the Rev. Donald Wellborn of the Chapel of Atlantic, officiating.

Burial will be in the Holland Cemetery. Friends may call at Nottger Funeral home at 1 p.m. today. The family has requested memorials be directed to missionary work.

Mr. Stickfort died at 12:40 a.m. yesterday at Sartori Memorial Hospital of complications of a stroke.

He was born Nov. 1899, in Holland, Iowa, the son of Remmer and Trindje Rosevink Stickfort. He married Florence Fay Baver on June 29, 1957, at Anoka, Minn.

Mr. Stickfort was a self-employed building contractor, operating Stickfort Contracting Company until his retirement in 1962. He had lived in the Cedar Falls area the past 26 years and was a member of the Downing Avenue Chapel, Waterloo.

Survivors include his wife at home; three sons, Raymond of 3108 North Union Road and Jacob of 3612 Center St. Cedar Falls; LaVerne of the Black Hawk County Home; a daughter, Mrs. Douglas Eischeid of Sunland, Calif.; two brothers, Richard of Stout and John of 802 Cedar St., Cedar Falls; a sister, Mrs. Jay DeNeui of 1421 Wst 3rd St., Cedar Falls; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The casket will be closed during services but friends may view after the service, or call at the funeral home until 9 p.m. today.
