Henry G. Peppler
Word has been received here of the death Thursday of Henry G. Peppler, 81, of Encinitas, Calif., who died of a heart attack in a hospital at LaJolla, Calif.
Memorial and burial services will be in Grundy Center at a later date. Mr. Peppler was born March 6, 1892, in New York City, and was orphaned at an early age.
He was raised by the Tyle Huisman family of Grundy Center.
He married Rachel J. Buchan Sept. 16, 1914, in Waterloo. He was a John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works employee for over 20 years. They lived in Waterloo until 1949 when they moved to San Diego.
Survivors are three sons, George, of 212 Boston Ave., John of 600 Evergreen St., and Donald of Solana Beach, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. Glenn Smith of 2324 Falls Ave., seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, brothers and sisters.

Henry Peppler, 81, Died in California
Henry G. Peppler, 81, of Encinitas, Calif., died Thursday of a heart attack in a hospital at LaJolla, Calif. The body will be cremated and memorial and burial services will be held in Grundy Center at a later date.
Mr. Peppler was born March 6, 1892 in New York City and was orphaned at an early age. After coming to Grundy Center he was raised by the Huisman family. On Sept. 16, 1914 at Waterloo he married Rachel J. Buchan. They lived in Grundy Center and later moved to Waterloo where he worked for the John Deere Tractor Works for over 20 years. In 1949 they moved to San Diego, Calif.
Survivors are three sons: George and John of Waterloo, and Donald of Solana Beach, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Doris) Smith of Waterloo, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his wife on Dec. 14, 1973, brothers and sisters.

Henry Peppler
A memorial service for Henry Peppler, 81, formerly of Waterloo, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church at Grundy Center.
Mr. Peppler died of a heart attack Feb. 21 in LaJolla, Calif. He was an employee of the Waterloo John Deere Tractor Works for many years until he moved to California in 1949.
