Will Eisenhower Dies Sunday
Will Eisenhower, a long time resident of Grundy Center, died at his home on North Fourth St., Grundy Center, about noon on Sunday. He fell and fractured his hip about two months ago. He was in the hospital at Iowa City a short time. He declined rapidly since his accident due to his advanced age. He was 82. His body was taken to the Engelkes funeral home where funeral arrangements were made. Services were at the funeral home at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The service was conducted by Rev. A. J. Straatmeyer. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.
Mr. Eisenhower was born in Carroll county, Illinois, Dec. 8th, 1880. He was one of 13 children in the family of Washington Eisenhower. The family moved to a farm in Lincoln township when William was a child.
Mr. Eisenhower was united in marriage with Bertha Reynolds on March 4, 1903, in South Dakota. They lived in South Dakota several years before moving to Grundy Center, where he did custom corn shelling and threshing until retiring about 20 years ago.
Survivors are: a son, Henry, of Everett, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. Jesse Crippen, of Bertha, Minn.
