Mrs. Margaret (Eisenhower) Geiter was born on Jan. 29, 1876, at Mount Carroll, Illinois. Her parents were Washington and Margaret McChrise Eisenhower. She was one of a family of 14 children. Her health rapidly declined after suffering a stroke in August and she passed away on Oct. 31, 1962. Her age was 86 years, 10 months, 2 days.

In January of 1898, Ralph Geiter and Margaret Eisenhower were married and to this union three children were born.

She is survived by one son, Elmer; one granddaughter, Joyce Creswell; 3 grandsons, Ralph Geiter and Kent and Keith Creswell; one son-in-law, Floyd Creswell, and one brother, William Eisenhower, Grundy Center, and one sister, Jessie Crippen, of Bertha, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; her husband, who passed away in September, 1936, and one daughter, Mrs. Floyd Creswell (Ruth), who passed away in Dec. 1961.

She was a member of the Methodist Church, W.S.C.S., Rebekah Lodge, Jolly Dozen and Relief Corps.

For many years Mr. and Mrs. Geiter farmed in Washington township, where the son Elmer now resides.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 2, at the Ferree funeral home with Rev. E. E. Basye in charge.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Talmadge, Hibbing, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Geiter, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Geiter, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Kneller, and Charles Timms, all of Freeport, Ill.; and Mrs. Edna Pagakus, Iowa Falls.
