Mrs. A. G. Briggs Dies At Hospital

Mrs. A. G. Briggs died last Wednesday night at the Grundy hospital where she had been a patient from time to time during the past year. Death was due to complications of advanced age. She was 85.

Mrs. Briggs was a lifetime resident of Grundy Center. She was born here July 5, 1876. Her maiden name was Mary Myra Heffelfinger. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Heffelfinger, among the early residents of Grundy Center. She was the only child from this family. She graduated from the Grundy Center high school and later took a college course in music. She gave music lessons here for several years.

April 20, 1904, Myra Heffelfinger and A. G. Briggs were married in Des Moines. They resided in Grundy Center during all of their married life.

Funeral Services Saturday
The body was taken to the Ferree funeral home where services were held Saturday afternoon. Rev. Rumley, Baptist church pastor, conducted the service. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery. The husband survives.

Pallbearers were Mainard Brown, Elky DeVries, Robert Stevens, John Walbaum, James Cech Sr. and John Ahrenholz.
