Rites Tuesday For Guy E. Hasbrouck

Services were held at the Ferree Funeral Home in Grundy Center Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 1:30 p.m. for Guy Earnest Hasbrouck, age 51, who passed away at Sartori hospital in Cedar Falls, Sunday. Death resulted from a cerebral hemorrhage.

He was born on a farm near Grundy Center, April 19, 1909, the son of Earnest and Emma Hasbrouck. He graduated from Grundy Center high school in 1926. He was a veteran of World War II and worked in the Navy yards in Washington State. While living in California, he worked as an electrician and metalworker. He was married to Fannie Itzen, August 14, 1950, in Billings, Montana.

Guy suffered a stroke six years ago in January and had been in poor health until the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Marie, in 1924. Surviving in addition to his wife, Fannie Hasbrouck, are his father and mother; three sisters, Mrs. Will Koobs and Beulah Hasbrouck of Grundy Center; LaVine Koobs, of Waterloo; one brother, Marlyn of New Hartford; and four step-children.

Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery. Rev. Calvin Rumley was in charge of the service.
