William Linkvis
Funeral services are pending at Chapel of Memories for William Linkvis, 1124 W. Parker St., who died at the age of 86 at St. Francis hospital at 8 a.m. Wednesday. Cause of death was complications due to age.
Mr. Linkvis was born Sept. 5, 1872 in Oawotti, the Netherlands. He lived in Grundy Center for a time before making his home in Waterloo in 1920.
He was an employee in the freight house of the WCF&N railroad in Waterloo until retirement in 1945. He married Helena Vanderlan Jan. 29, 1898 at Grundy Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jennie Beinfang, 1124 W. Parker Ave., nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one sister, who lives in Holland. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, three sons, three sisters and three daughters.
