Lucille E. Jontz, 78, of 803 Sixth st. SW, Cedar Rapids resident 30 years, died Wednesday in a Cedar Rapids nursing home. Born at Princeton, Ill., Sept. 20, 1879, she was affiliated with Salem Evangelical church. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. T. M. (Iva) Hynds of Cedar Rapids, and a brother, Charlie Jontz of Grundy Center.

Friends may call at the Rohn funeral home after noon Thursday. Graveside services will be conducted at the Grundy Center cemetery.

Lucille Jontz Dies In Cedar Rapids

Miss Lucille Jontz, who spent much of her lifetime in Grundy Center, died in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday of last week following a stroke. Three years prior to her death she lived in a Cedar Rapids nursing home. Had she lived until September, she would have been 79 years old.

The body was brought to Grundy Center for burial by the side of her parents. There was a graveside service last Friday.

Lucille Jontz was born in Illinois. She came with her folks to Grundy Center in 1904. For many years she was employed as a clerk in Grundy stores. She left here for Cedar Rapids 30 years ago. She was employed as a clerk in Cedar Rapids until her health failed.

Surviving are her brother, Charles Jontz of Grundy Center, and a sister, Mrs. Ted Hynds, Cedar Rapids.
