Roy Avery Burial In Grundy Center

Roy J. Avery died Sunday of a heart ailment in a Waterloo hospital. His body was brought to Grundy Center for burial. It was brought to the Ferree funeral home, where services were held Tuesday afternoon. Burial was by the side of his wife in the Grundy Center cemetery. He was 78 years old.

Mr. Avery was born March 10, 1878, at Mount Auburn. In 1906 he was married to Lillie Frazee of Grundy Center. She died in October of last year. The Averys spent most of their married life in Waterloo where he was a factory fireman until his retirement.

He is survived by two sons, Frank, Waterloo, and Earl, in the U.S. Army; two daughters, Mrs. Marvin Clark, Waterloo, and Mrs. Ralph Lee, Littleton, Colo., ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
