Services Friday For Mrs. Hermina Heeren
Funeral services for Mrs. Hermina Heeren were held Friday forenoon at the Engelkes Funeral Home in Grundy Center. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. F. J. Langenberg.
Mrs. Heeren died Monday of last week at the hospital in Independence where she had been a patient for 15 years. She was 47 years old on the 1st of last month. She was born in Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bloem. She came to this country and to this county when she was 19 years old. After her marriage to Henry Heeren the couple were employed on farms in the vicinity of Morrison and Reinbeck.
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Gesina Bloem, who is now making her home at Glidden. Other survivors are three brothers, Herman who is with the U.S. armed forces in Korea, Hans of Tripoli, Iowa, and Joe, with the U.S. Army at Daly City, Calif. There are three sisters, Gerda Kladde in Germany, Mrs. Louisa Kruse, Glidden, and Mrs. Bertha Aswegan, Parkersburg.
