Ida Mae Bettinger, daughter of Leonard and Maria Bettinger, was born at Clinton, Iowa, Feb. 7, 1879, and died at the home of her brother, Edwin Bettinger, Round Lake, Minn., Jan. 30, 1937, at the age of 57 years, 11 months and 22 days.

At the age of three years she came with her parents to a farm three miles north of Grundy Center. She has spent most of her life in and around Grundy Center, making her home with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Smith.

For the past 16 months Miss Bettinger made her home with her brother, Edwin Bettinger, at Round Lake, Minn. Although she had been an invalid since an infant, she was very cheerful and happy. She loved to play the piano and sing the beautiful hymns of the church.

She leaves to mourn her departure four brothers and one sister: Charles of Clinton, Iowa; John and Ernest of California; and Edwin of Round Lake, Minn.; and Mrs. Ralph Whitney of Waterloo, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Sisters preceding her in death are Mrs. Ben Smith, Mrs. Isaac Smith, Mrs. Irvin Mason.

Miss Bettinger was taken into the membership of the Baptist church of Grundy Center many years ago, and though her physical condition deprived her of the joy of service and of attendance, she loved her church and the things for which it stands.

Whate'er thy lot,
Still murmur not;
Trust God, and take what He doth send;
Sunshine and shadows, He will blend,
Thou wilt His plan well comprehend
In yonder sky.
