Mrs. Richard E. Shannon Dies

Mrs. Richard E. Shannon died at her home in Grundy Center Saturday following a long period of illness from cancer. Funeral services were held at the Coffman funeral home Monday afternoon with Rev. J. B. Bird in charge.

Ada R. Tracy-Shannon, the third daughter of Chas. M. and Caroline Rittenhouse Garner, was born in Norristown, Penna., January 27, 1859. She resided in Norristown nearly twenty years, coming to Grundy Center, Iowa, on the 5th day of December, 1878. Nov. 27, 1881, she was united in marriage to Lawrence E. Tracy of Grundy Center. In 1883 they removed to a farm near Plankinton, Aurora county, So. Dakota. They returned to Grundy Center in November, 1889, where she had since continuously resided.

The husband, Laurence E. Tracy, died Nov. 1, 1919. On the 18th day of August, 1926, occurred the second marriage to Richard E. Shannon of Grundy Center. The ceremony was performed by Rev. H. A. Showmaker in the M.E. parsonage at St. Joseph, Mo.

Surviving Mrs. Shannon is the husband.
