Mrs. A. Krull Died After Illness Of Several Months

Mrs. A. Krull died at her home in Grundy Center at 11:30 Tuesday night from heart trouble and old age. She had been in failing health during the past year.

Mrs. Krull came to this country from Germany 33 years ago with a family of ten children, the most of whom were small. Her husband died in the old country the year before. She with her large family established herself on a farm near Austinville where they remained six months and the next two years they occupied a farm a short distance east of Buck Grove. In 1905 the family moved on one of the Boies farms southwest of Grundy Center where the children grew to maturity. Ten years ago after her family had all grown up Mrs. Krull removed to Grundy Center where she made her home up to the time of her death.

It required courage of a very rare degree for a mother with a large family to acquire a new home thousands of miles from her native land and to manage the business of farming and mother a family of ten successfully. Those who knew Mrs. Krull best had nothing but admiration for her spirit and her steadfastness with which she carried her heavy responsibilities.

Mrs. Krull was 81 years old. She was born in Ostfriesland, Germany, Sept. 24, 1854. Her maiden name was Siebeldena Bootsmann.

Surviving are eight children. One son, Siebelt, died at the age of 19 years and one daughter, Mrs. John Frerichs, passed away last year. The surviving children are: John, Clarksville; Henry, Grundy Center; Ailt, Stout; Mrs. Engelke Engelkes, Sibley; Mrs. Henry Eiklenberg, Fern; Albert, Harm and Chris, Grundy Center.

Funeral services will be held at the home at one o'clock Saturday and later at the German Presbyterian church with the local pastor, Rev. K. J. Stratemeier, officiating. Burial will be in the Grundy Center cemetery.
