Funeral Services Monday For Mrs. Harry Bleeker

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Engelkes funeral home in Grundy Center and later at Bethany Presbyterian church for Mrs. Harry Bleeker, who died at the University hospital at Iowa City Wednesday night, March 26th. The services were conducted by Rev. F. J. Langenberg. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Mrs. Bleeker was partially disabled during half of her lifetime. The past two years she was unable to walk. She was in the hospital 17 days before the end came. She was 63 years old.

Mrs. Bleeker was born May 27, 1884, in Grundy county. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Folkert VanHoorn. Her mother died when the daughter was two weeks old. She was taken into the family of her aunt and uncle, who lived at Renville, Minn. She was married to Harry Bleeker at Renville Mar. 8, 1905. The couple farmed there 8 years, then in South Dakota and in Lyon county, Iowa. They came to Grundy Center in 1925.

Surviving are the husband; three daughters, Flora, at home; Mrs. Fred Meyeraan and Mrs. Harm Krull, Grundy Center; one son, Everett, Danville, Ill.; one brother, Richard VanHoorn, of Woden, Iowa, and nine grandchildren.
