Geo. Sheller Died Monday After Long Illness

George Sheller died at nine o'clock Monday morning following an illness over a period of six years. He would have been 80 years old had he lived until the 16th of April.

Funeral services were held at the Coffman funeral home at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The service was conducted by Rev. J. B. Bird, pastor of the Methodist church at Dike. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Mr. Sheller was born at Mt. Carroll, Ill. When he was a year old his family came to Grundy county and Mr. Sheller made his home here ever since. The family bought a farm in Melrose township near Ivester and made their home there, where all of the eight children grew up and attended school.

On Sept, 5, 1905, Mr. Sheller and Maude Carpenter were married. They began housekeeping on a farm two miles northeast of Ivester and they resided there continually until they moved to Grundy Center. Mr. Sheller suffered a stroke while they were still living on the farm and because of this Mr. and Mrs. Sheller decided to retire and move to town.

Surviving are the wife, one sister, Mrs. Geo. Schwarck, Grundy Center, and two brothers, Harry and Frank of Melrose township.
