Ed Slifer Dies Of Injuries In Fall From Roof

Edwin M. Slifer died at the Deaconess hospital at Marshalltown at 9:20 Tuesday forenoon from injuries he received when he fell a distance of about 25 feet from the roof of the Engelkes Funeral home in Grundy Center to the ground on July 19th. He was helping to install lightning rods on the roof. He received a crushed vertebra and other internal injuries. Double pneumonia developed a few days after he came to the hospital and this brought on the end. He would have been 70 years old if he had lived until the 28th of this month.

Funeral services will be at the Engelkes funeral home at two o'clock Friday afternoon. The services will be conducted by Rev. David Alexander, pastor of the Baptist church. Burial will be in the family lot in the Grundy Center cemetery.
