Frank Erickson, Early Grundy Resident, Dead

Frank Erickson, who was born in Grundy county 75 years ago and who spent nearly all of his life here, died at his home in Fairfield Sunday afternoon from uremic poisoning. He had been afflicted with kidney trouble and his health had been failing several years. The body was brought to the Coffman funeral home in Grundy Center Sunday night.

Funeral services were held at the funeral home at four o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. Earl Baker, Methodist pastor from Cedar Falls. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Mr. Erickson was born on the Lynn homestead farm four miles southwest of Grundy Center. He lived there until the Lynn family bought the place and took possession in 1873. From there the Erickson family moved to what is now the Rohwer farm two miles west of Grundy Center. The son Frank remained there until he was married to Lola Gibson 50 years ago on the 16th of last March. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Erickson moved to a farm in Grant township where they resided until about ten years ago. Since that time they have lived at Ankeny and at Fairfield.

Surviving are the wife and two sons. The sons are Theron, living at Fairfield, and Lawrence at Dinsdale. There are five grandchildren. Other surviving relatives are two sisters, Mrs. Fred Stevens, Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Lawrence Hansen, Waterloo.
