Last Rites For Fred W Robins

Funeral services for Fred Warren Robins, who died at his home southeast of Hudson on December 29, were held at Reinbeck Friday afternoon at the Congregational church. Rev. Boettcher conducted the service. He was 61 years old. Death followed an illness of several months from cancer.

Fred Warren Robins was born April 8, 1886, in Grundy Center, son of Thomas and Carrie Robins. He was educated in the schools of Grundy county and spent his boyhood with his parents on the farm. He was married to Anna L. Rohde Jan. 12, 1910, at Reinbeck and went to farming for himself. He farmed one year on a place east of Grundy Center and then moved to a farm southeast of Reinbeck, which he operated for a period of 31 years. He then bought a farm southeast of Hudson, which he had been operating the past five years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Vern, Cabin Creek, W. Va.; one granddaughter, Anna Louise Robins; his mother, Mrs. Carrie Robins of Grundy Center; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Dunn of Estes Park, Colorado; Mrs. Vera Greany, Grundy Center; two brothers, Arthur Robins, Grundy Center, and Frank Robins, Cedar Falls. He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters.

Mr. Robins was a member of Coin Lodge 394 AF&AM and the Modern Woodmen.
