The first body of a veteran of the last World war to be killed overseas and to be returned for burial in the Grundy Center cemetery arrived Monday. He was Lt. Lynn Davidson, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Davidson from Floyd, Iowa, who was killed when his plane crashed near Georgetown, British Guiana, February 29th, 1944. He was 28 years old at the time of his death. He had been in the service two years when he met his death. He was a navigator on a B-29.

The body was sent here from Kansas City. It was accompanied by Lt. Lucien Kirkes from Kansas City, who remained until after the funeral service.

Funeral services were held at the Coffman funeral home Tuesday afternoon. The service at the funeral home was conducted by Rev. Merton Green, pastor of the Methodist church. Service at the grave was by the veterans of foreign wars from Grundy Center. Casket bearers were former schoolmates of the deceased from Floyd. Many of the neighbors and friends of the Davidson family in Floyd county came here for the funeral services.

Lt. Davidson is survived by his wife, who is a teacher in the Lindsay, California schools (she came here by plane), and by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Davidson.
