Funeral Services Held Today, Thursday, For Mrs. Geo. Abbas

Mrs. George A. Abbas, nee Nellie Peters, passed away at 6:15 Monday morning at the home of her son John G. Abbas of Wellsburg with whom she made her home the past 5 years. She was 79 years of age. Death was due to infirmities of old age.

She was born September 22, 1869 in Butler Co. Iowa. In 1896 she was married to George A. Abbas who preceded her in death September 23, 1924. One son Arend G., one daughter Emma and one infant son also preceded her in death.

Survivors are her children, John G. Abbas of Wellsburg; George G. Abbas, Aplington; Mrs. Wm. W. DeBoer, Aplington, eleven grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; three sisters, Mrs. George Ropes, Austinville; Mrs. Hattie Wunchel, Knoxville; Mrs. Meint Meinders, Aplington; two brothers, John Peters, Parkersburg and Pete Peters, Cutlerville, Michigan.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon Sept. 22 at the home of John G. Abbas in Wellsburg and later at the Ackley Christian Reformed Church, south of Austinville. The services were in charge of Rev. I. Meuzelaar. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Music was furnished by a mixed quartet: Geo. Bulten, Paul Smoins, Miss Kathryn Smeins, Mrs. Wayne Neymeyer. Organist, Mrs. Siebe Arends. Flower attendants were Mrs. Geo. Bulten, Mrs. Kobus Nevenhoven.

Casketbearers were Jake Hippen, Andrew Janssen, Will Huisenga, John Eckhoff, D. U. Harken, Abe Voogd.
