Engelbertus Abbas Died Friday At Ackley

Engelbertus Abbas, who was born on a German township farm and lived there the greater part of his life, died at his home four miles east of Ackley last Friday from a heart ailment. He was 69 years old.

Funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 Monday afternoon and later at the Christian Reformed church east of Ackley. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mr. Abbas was born August 2, 1879. In December 1919 he was married to Gertie Bunk.

Surviving are eight children, Mrs. Alfred Geerdes, Ackley; Mrs. Ben VanHeiden, Bristow; Arend and Fred, Aplington; Lucile, Bertha, George and Henrietta, at home; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Blau, Austinville, one brother, Ben Abbas, Ackley, 11 grandchildren.
