End Comes For Mrs. Dan Meester At Hospital

Mrs. Dan Meester died at about six o'clock Monday morning at the Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo. She was taken to the Waterloo hospital April 12. Sunday morning her condition took a turn for the worse and it continued that way until the end came.

Mrs. Meester had been an intense sufferer from an asthmatic condition for several years. Everything that could possibly be done to relieve her was done. She received treatments by different physicians at different hospitals; she was taken to Colorado and Arizona in the hopes that the dry climate in that part of the country would bring relief but none of these efforts brought a cure. She was 40 years old last January.

Was Born in Colfax Township
Mrs. Meester's maiden name was Tena Henze. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Henze and she grew up on the Henze farm seven miles north of Grundy Center. On June 23rd, 1932, she was married to Daniel A. Meester at the Salem Lutheran church in Beaver township.

For three years they lived with her parents on the farm north of Grundy Center. In 1935 they moved to Grundy Center. She is survived by her husband, four children, Duane, Lorene, Mary Jo and James; seven brothers, August, G.C., Henry, G.C., Martin, Holland, Chris of Dike, John, G.C., Fred, Holland, William, G.C., and one sister, Mrs. Emma Haren of Coggon, Iowa.
