George P. Harris Dies

George P. Harris, 74, was born near Conrad Jan. 25th, 1875, and died at 2 a.m. Friday morning, Sept. 9th, at the Broadlawns hospital in Des Moines, where he had been a patient for the past month. Mr. Harris had been making his home for some time in the home of his son, Don Harris in Carlisle. Mr. Harris lived on a farm near Conrad for many years.

He is survived by three sons, Don of Carlisle, Fred of Marshalltown and Charlie of Whitten, also four daughters, Mrs. Albert Aswegan of Des Moines, Mrs. Glen Aswegan of Elgin, Iowa, Mrs. Alice De Maris of Algona and Mrs. Wood Craig of Liscomb. Mrs. Harris preceded her husband in death May 16th, 1945, and also one daughter, Gladys Marie, died in 1924. The body was brought from Des Moines to the Johnston Funeral home in Conrad Friday night. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Alice Church of God, with Rev. Allen Mitchell in charge. Burial was in the Alice cemetery.
