Harold E. Aswegan, 70

Harold Edward Aswegan, 70, of Grundy Center, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 1999 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Parkersburg. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center. Pastor David Palm officiated. A memorial fund has been established.

Harold was born on November 25, 1928, in Fern the son of Henry L. and Hanna (Schiller) Aswegan. Harold graduated from the Dike High School.

On January 2, 1952 he was united in marriage to Tena Henze at the Salem Lutheran Church in rural Parkersburg. Harold farmed in the Fern area his entire life. He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church and then the Bethel Lutheran Church in Parkersburg. He was a Sunday School Superintendent at Salem Lutheran church for many years. Harold was on the Board of Directors at the Bremwood Lutheran Children's Home in Waverly for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a stillborn infant sister; and twin infant brothers.

Survivors include is wife, Tena; two sons, Norman and his wife Debbie of Hardy and Glen and his wife Renea of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren, and two sisters, Henrietta Byl of Parkersburg and Alma Bergman of Grundy Center.

Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, GC, was in charge of funeral arrangements.
