Obituary of Perry M. Robinson
Perry M. Robinson son of Andrew and Affie Robinson was born in Seneca county, N.Y., April 25th, 1844 and died of heart trouble at his home in Grundy Center, Ia., Dec. 28, 1903 at the age of 60 years, eight months and three days. Mr. Robinson came with his parents to Lanark, Carroll county, Ill., when about 12 years of age. He grew to manhood in Illinois and in October, 1866, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Emma Booth. By this union one son was born to them, Jesse S., of Grundy Center. In the year 1871 they moved to Marshall county, Iowa where they resided one year when they moved back to Grundy where he has resided on a farm until about two years ago he moved to Grundy Center where he died. Mr. Robinson was one of nine children, four of whom survive him. A brother John Robinson of Chadwick, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Lydia Booth of Eldora were with him when he departed. Mrs. Sarah Husted of Vineyard, Ga., and Andrew Robinson of Shelby, Ia., were unable to be with him. In 1889 Mr. and Mrs. Robinson united with the First Baptist Church in Grundy Center. Four years ago his companion was called to her home beyond. He then made his home with his son Jesse until two years ago he was again married to Mrs. Ellen Redmond who still survives the deceased. His son and one grandchild, Emma May Robinson are left to mourn the departed who will be missed by many friends.
The funeral services were held at the church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by Rev. C. H. Marsh, former pastor of the deceased, assisted by Rev. McMasters.
