Gone To Her Reward

Mrs. Magdalina Harders, the deceased, was born in Holstine, Germany, Nov. 25, 1824. Died in Madison county, Iowa, Jan. 18, 1901.

She was married to Peter Harders in 1847, and to them were born seven children, four of whom are still living. The father died while the children were yet small and there devolved upon this faithful woman the double duty of father and mother. They came to America in 1864. She was for many years a member of the Lutheran church, but for the past few years she has been an attendant of the Methodist church. She died trusting in her Heavenly Father. Her illness was brief, and not until the messenger of death was at the door did they realize that he was so near. She had attained the good old age of 76 years, 1 month and 23 days. The funeral exercises were held at the residence of Mr. David Reid, the sermon being preached by Rev. J. B. Jones from Ps. 116-15. The interment was in Clark cemetery.

The surviving children of the deceased are Mrs. Chas. Pepperman of Humboldt, Mrs. John Souers of Grundy Center, and Messrs. Claas and John Harders of Dexter, Iowa.
