Henry O'Connor, Former Grundy County Resident Passes Away at Waterloo Following An Operation

Henry O'Connor, a former well known citizen of Grundy county, passed away at the St. Francis hospital, Waterloo, Monday afternoon. Deceased was taken suddenly ill a few days ago and submitted to a very serious operation, but failed to rally.

The news of his death comes as a shock to his many friends in Grundy county, where he was well known and highly respected.

Mr. O'Connor was born in Wisconsin seventy-two years ago and came to Iowa in the early days of his married life. He lived for several years on a farm south of Grundy Center. About twenty-five years ago he moved to his farm in Grant township where he made his home till last spring, when he retired to Waterloo.

He was apparently in his usual good health and visited his old home near Dike last week, and so the news of his death comes as a severe shock to his many relatives and friends. Those left to mourn their loss are his beloved wife, two sons, John and Richard, two daughters, Mrs. John Murphy and Mrs. Thomas E. Connell; and several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, etc. and a very large circle of friends.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's church, Waterloo, Thursday and the remains will be laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery at Grundy Center.

May his soul rest in peace.
