Services Held Tuesday For Anna Miller

Mrs. Hollis (Anna) Miller passed away at 1:25 a.m. on Sunday, October 7, at the Schoitz Medical Center in Waterloo.

Funeral services were held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 9, at 10:30 a.m. Father Paul J. Grace officiated. The organist was Mrs. William Fisher.

Casket bearers were Charles Allen, Harold Lynch, Dean Eslinger, Duane Greany, Max Girres, and Wallace Norman.

Serving as ushers were Donald Coleman and Virgil Abels. Mrs. Keith Bailey and Mrs. Agnes Graves were in charge of the floral arrangements.

Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Grundy Center.

She was born on June 2, 1905, on a farm southwest of Ames in Boone county near Napier, the daughter of Joseph A. and Susan Creed Judge. She attained the age of 79 years, four months and five days.

She grew up and went to school at Napier, then she went to A.I.B. in Des Moines. In 1928, she came to Grundy Center and worked in the office of the Farm Bureau in Grundy for 22 years, retiring in 1950.

She was united in marriage to Hollis Miller on January 29, 1940, at Ames.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Grundy Center, the St. Martha Society and the Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband, Hollis Miller of Grundy Center; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Susan Miller and Kenneth L. Lyftogt of Waterloo and Elizabeth Ann and Mark A. Shore of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Ceclia Niemeyer of Ottumwa and Mrs. Kathryn Hensing of Ames; and by two grandchildren, Jennifer Nicole Shore and Chad Alan Shore.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, in Grundy Center, was in charge of the arrangements.
