Mrs. Wanitschke Funeral Friday

Mrs. Frances M. Wanitschke, 78, died at the Grundy County Memorial hospital at 9:53 a.m. Tuesday, November 18. She had been a patient there 13 days.

There will be a rosary service at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home Thursday evening at 8 o'clock. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic church in Grundy Center with Monsignor Maurice Mullen officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart cemetery.

She was born April 12, 1897 in Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Joseph and Frances Rucker Duschanek. She came to America when she was 13 years old and made her home with an aunt and uncle in Nebraska until she was 17 years old. She then came to Grundy county, Iowa, to reside. On October 11, 1919 she was united in marriage to Rudolph J. Wanitschke in Grundy Center. They farmed in Grundy county all of their married life until his death November 28, 1959. Mrs. Wanitschke then moved to Grundy Center. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic church.

Mrs. Wanitschke is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Anna) Morrison of rural Hudson, and Mrs. Robert (Marcella) High of Grundy Center; also six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and two brothers.

A memorial fund has been established in lieu of flowers.
