Theodore Klein Dies Suddenly
Theodore Klein died suddenly at his home in Grundy Center about 10 o'clock Monday morning following a heart attack. He had been at work in the W. D. Wilson & Son seedhouse in the morning. At nine o'clock he said he was not feeling well and he went home. He was 59 years old on the 14th of this month.
Funeral services will be at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Grundy Center Thursday morning. The service will be conducted by Rev. Fr. Wm. Holub. Burial will be in the Grundy Center cemetery.
Mr. Klein was born in The Netherlands on Sept. 14, 1888. At the age of 21 he came to America with some friends and to Grundy county. He received employment on a Grundy county farm. On November 23, 1916, he and Frances Laura Bausch were married in the Catholic church in Grundy Center. They began housekeeping on a farm in Beaver township. They farmed two years in Tama county and the remainder of the time their home was on Grundy county farms until they moved to Grundy Center four years ago. The last year he was on the farm he met with an accident in which he broke one leg.
Surviving are the wife, one son, George, and two daughters, Mrs. John Katzer, Conrad, and Mrs. Roger Mooty, Grundy Center. A daughter, Anna Louise, died last May. There are three grandchildren. One brother, Louis, lives at Austin, Minn. Two brothers and one sister are living in The Netherlands. One sister, Mrs. Theo. Bottema, died 14 years ago.
